Adam Parr

Adam Parr

MBBS (Hons), FRACS (Orth)

Dr Adam Parr is an orthopaedic and fellowship trained spinal surgeon.  He graduated with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with first class honours in 2009. Having completed his training under the Queensland Orthopaedic Specialist training program, he has worked at most tertiary hospitals in Brisbane and rural Queensland.

He has been awarded a professional fellowship in spine surgery from the Australian Orthopaedic Association. The 12-month fellowship was under the guidance of Dr Geoffrey Askin. It focused on complex deformity in children and adults treating a range of conditions such as scoliosis, degenerative disease, disc pathology, trauma and tumours.   

Dr Parr has public positions as a specialist orthopaedic spine surgeon at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital. At Princess Alexandra he is involved in the Queensland wide spinal trauma team and treats a wide range of elective spinal conditions.  Privately he has appointments at Greenslopes Private Hospital and The Wesley Hospital, Brisbane.

Dr Parr is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and supervisor of Queensland Orthopaedic Surgical trainees.

Certified with the American College of Independent Medical Examiners, he is happy to consult on medicolegal patients. As an officer in the Royal Australian Army Reserves, he looks forward to consulting on current and ex-serving military members.

Dr Parr offers a comprehensive public and private practice for spine surgery.  He prides himself on patient centred care.  He specialises in treating patients of all ages and employs non-operative and operative treatments to treat their problem effectively. 

The Anatomy of Orthopaedic Surgical Exposure course is a cadaver based training course set against the lush tropical background of Far North Queensland.
